Tockwith Village Hall

Tockwith Village Hall

This fine old building, located in a conservation area, dates back to 1870, when it was originally built as the village school.

It lies at the centre of the village and is a hub for local community activities and private parties.

It is managed by a small group of volunteers who maintain the building for hire at affordable rates.

It is in good order and well decorated inside and out, and it has a lovely garden to the rear.

It is accessible by wheelchair users, has a disabled toilet and a ramp for anyone needing to access room 3 to the rear of the hall.

Parking is limited but on-street parking is available.

A Tockwith Players production, on 30th and 31st May and 1st June 2019. Curtain up 7.30pm.

In a festive mood, the Farndale ladies descend on the village of Tockwith and mount another assault on the classics with their stage version of 'A Christmas Carol'. They enthusiastically portray a dizzy array of characters from the Dickensian favourite (and a few which aren't), engineer some novel audience participation while bravely contending with an intrusive PA system and a real FArndale first, rap their vocal cords and feet around two original show-stopping songs. You would definately be mad to miss it ....

Licenced bar and seasonal refreshments.

Tickets £7.50 (Concessions £7).

Tickets available from Margaret on 01423 358 626 or by visiting the Players website www.tockwithplayers.co.uk

Yorkshire Rows is a team of 4 formidable Yorkshire mums who are hte first women to row across the North Sea and who also hold the world record for rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. First impressions of these 4 courageous women is that they are not professional sports women. rather they are 4 ordinary working mums who dared to dream. The four women, all from Yorkshire, took up theier rowing a t alocal club 7 years ago. Each week after taking their children to school they bwould venture out onto the river Ouse and learn to row, rounded off with tea and cakes and then straight back to work in the afternoon. In january 2013 they decided to take on the herculean task fo entering the world's toughest rowing race, 3000 nautical miles from the CAnaries to Antigua. It took almost 3 years to plan and prepare for the row. The story they tell is incredible, inspiring, motivating, humbling and funny. These women are Yorkshire's own heros.
